Marks awarded for one incorrect answer = -2
Marks awarded for an unattempted question = 0
Of the 7 questions Ram has attempted, he got 3 correct answers and 4 incorrect answers.
Number of unattempted questions = 3
So, the total score = 3 $\times$ (+5) + 4 $\times$ (-2) + 3 $\times$ 0
= 15 - 8 + 0 = 7
