Suppose, height of liquid in each arm before rising the temperature is l.
With rise in temperature,
l1=l(1+γt1) ⇒l=l11+γt1
l2=l(1+γt2) ⇒l=l21+γt2
Equating l from above two equation, we get
l11+γt1=l21+γt2
⇒l1+γl1t2=l2+l2t1⇒γ=l1−l2l2t1−l1t2
