In above shown figure, two speaker, S1 and S2 are kept at 3 m apart. Speakers emit a sound wave of wavelength of m. Emitted waves are in phase with each other. Compare the amplitude of resulting wave at point P and Q if AP and AQ resulted amplitude at point P and Q respectively.

Since the waves travel equal distance in traveling to point Q, they remain in phase with each other, and thus perform a constructive interference to produce maximum amplitude of resulting wave possible.
However in reaching point P, the waves are not exactly in-phase and thus result in amplitude lesser than the maximum.
