During entry of antigen, helper T cells stimulate B cells to produce antibodies that bind to specific antigen like lock and key and immobilize it, preventing it from causing infection. Human immunodeficiency virus attacks helper T cells due to which helper T cell cannot signal B cells to produce antibodies or Cytotoxic T cells to kill infected cells and thus, becomes susceptible to many opportunistic infections.
