Alcoholic fermentation is performed by the yeasts in the absence of oxygen during which carbon dioxide and alcohol is released.

One glucose molecules produces 2 pyruvate molecules after glycolysis. Each pyruvate molecule produces an ethanol molecule and a CO2 molecule.

Therefore, 2 molecules of glucose will produce 4 ethanol molecules and 4 CO2 molecules.
