Dear student,
When the excretions from an infected person get mixed with drinking water, the water becomes contaminated with disease-causing microorganisms. Diseases are caused when this contaminated water is consumed by other individuals. Such diseases are called waterborne diseases.
Some of the common water borne diseases are cholera, polio, typhoid, hepatitis.
In water borne diseases diarrhoea and vomiting are most common symptoms.
