Open in App
Solution

Formula,

an=a+(n1)d

Given,

am=a+(m1)d=n........(1)

an=a+(n1)d=m......(2)

nm=a+(m1)d[a+(n1)d]

nm=d(mn)

d=1

substituting the value d in eqn (1), we get,

a=m+n1

Therefore the pth term is given by,

ap=a+(p1)d

=m+n1+(p1)(1)

=m+n1p+1

=m+np
