STEP 1 : Finding the number of votes cast in favour of A
Total number of votes $= 6000$
Number of votes polled in the election $= 80 % o f 6000$
$\Rightarrow \frac{80}{100} \times 6000 = 4800$
$60 %$ of the polled votes were cast in favour of A, i.e.
Number of votes $= \frac{60}{100} \times 4800 = 60 \times 48 = 2880$
STEP 2 : Finding the number of votes cast in favour of B
Number of votes cast in favour of B $=$ Total votes polled $-$ Votes cast in favour of A
Number of votes cast in favour of B $= 4800 - 2880 = 1920$
Hence, the number of votes cast in favour of B is $1920$ .
