In an envelope there are some 5 rupee notes and some 10 rupee notes. Total amount of these notes together is 350 rupee. Number of 5 rupee notes are 10 less than twice the number of 10 rupee notes. Then find the number of 5 rupee and 10 rupee notes.
Let the number of 5 rupee note be x and the number of 10 rupee note be y
Then according to the question ,
5x+10y=350 ...................1
Also,x=2y−10 ..........2
Substituting the value of x from eq .2 in eq. 1 we get,
5(2y−10)+10y=350
20y=400
y=20
Putting the value of y in eq.2 we get x=30
Hence, the number of 5 and 10 rupee note are 30 and 20 respectively.
