In an equilateral triangle ABC, AD, BE, and CF are the medians. If the length of AB = 12 cm, find the length of CE.

Given:​

Triangle ABC is an equilateral triangle.​

AB = 12 cm​

AD, BE, and CF are the medians.​

To find: Length of CE.​

Since, ABC is an equilateral triangle, AB = BC = AC = 12 cm​

We know that a median connects a vertex of a tringle to the mid – point of the opposite side.​

BE is the median to the side AC.​

So, BE divides AC int equal halves.​

So,​

AE = EC​

AC = AE + CE​

12 cm = 2CE​

CE = 12/2 = 6 cm​
