Student has to secure 45% to pass the exam

Here, given that Varun got 251 marks and failed by 19

Value of 45% is equal to 251+19=270

Let the maximum marks be x

So, according to the question

45%of x is equal to 270

i.e.,

45100×x=270x=270×10045x=600

Hence, the maximum marks is 600.
