Let the total marks be $x$.

Gaurav's score = 468

He would have been eligible for 1st division, if he had scored 12 marks more.

$\therefore$ marks required for 1st division = 468 + 12 = 480

As per the question ,

$\frac{60x}{100}$ = $480$

$\Rightarrow x$ = $\frac{480\times 100}{60}$ = $800$

$\therefore$ Total marks in the examination = 800
