Solution

1 g of hydrogen gas =8 g of oxygen gas
So, 3 g of hydrogen gas requires =8×3 g of oxygen gas =24 g of oxygen gas. It is governed by the law of constant proportions. The Law of constant proportion states that a chemical compound always contains exactly the same proportion of elements by mass.
