let us take a triangle ABC and draw an altitude CD

being an isosceles triangle

in ΔACD and ΔCDB

CD=CD (common )

CA=CB ( equal opposite sides)

A= B ( angle opposite to opposite sides are also equal )

so , AD=DB by CPCT
