The correct option is D 100%
We know that power factor is given by,

cosϕ=RZ

Here, the impedance, Z of the circuit is changing. But R remains constant.

cosϕ1=RZ1=12Z1=2R

And, cosϕ2=RZ2=14Z2=4R

ΔZ=Z2Z1=2R

% Increase in impedance,

=ΔZZ1×100%

=2R2R×100%

=100%

Hence, option (D) is correct.
