In answering a question on a multiple choice test, a student either knows the answer or guesses, Let 35 be the
Probability that he knows the answer and 25 be the probability that he guesses.
Assuming that a student whop guesses at the answer will be correct with
probability 13, what is the probability that
the student knows the answer given that he answered it correctly?

The student has to answer correctly.
Case i:-
He knows the answer.
P(A)=35
Case ii:-
He guesses the answer P(B)=25
for the guess to be correct P(C)=13
P(Total)=case i+ case-ii
=P(A)+P(BC)
=P(A)+P(B)×P(C)=35+23×13
=1115.
