Solution

The correct option is C

The laws made by the Central Government will prevail

Answer: The correct answer is option (C) – The laws made by the Central Government will prevail.

The Concurrent List contains subjects that are of interest to both the Central Government and the State Governments. The subjects in the Concurrent list are adoption and succession, marriage, trade unions, forest, education. For the subjects coming under the Concurrent List, both the Central and State Governments can make laws.

State Governments have the power to make laws on subjects coming under the State List. Central Governments have the power to make laws on subjects coming under the Central List. If there is a subject which does not belong to any of the three lists, then according to the Constitution, the Union Government will have the powers to make laws on those Residuary Subjects.
