First aid for snake bite:

  1. Tie a cloth above the bite tightly to stop the flow of blood through the artery. Keep the wound lower than the heart.
  2. Clean the wound with antiseptic.
  3. If possible squeeze the blood out by pressing the surrounding area to exude snake venom and stop it from spreading. Cover the wound with a loose, sterile bandage.
  4. Try to keep him/her awake till medical help arrives.
