The chlor-alkali process is an industrial process for the electrolysis of sodium chloride solution (brine).

Reactions involved:
At anode (oxidation): 2Cl(aq)Cl2(g)+2e
At cathode (reduction): 2H2O(l)+2eH2(g)+2OH
Overall reaction: 2NaCl(s)+2H2O(l)Cl2(g)+H2(g)+2NaOH (aq)

Hence, chlorine gas is released at anode and hydrogen gas at cathode as shown in the diagram:
