Question

In coastal area, wind current moves from the sea towards the land during day; but during night it moves from land to the sea. Discuss the reason.

Solution

During the day, the land gets more heated up than the sea due to direct sunlight, Since the winds move from the high pressure to the low-pressure areas, wind currents move from sea to the land. Similarly, during nights, while land cools down rapidly, the sea is still warm (since water takes time in absorbing and releasing heat) so the direction gets reversed and wind currents start to move from land to sea.
