Solution

Wind currents move from the sea towards the land during the day.

  1. During the daytime, land gets heated fast as compared to the water in the sea.
  2. Consequently, air above the land surface gets heated faster than air above the water surface.
  3. The heated air on the land surface starts rising.
  4. A region of low pressure is created on the land surface, resulting in the movement of the cool air above the sea towards the low pressure area on land.

Thus, the wind current moves from the sea towards the land during the day.

During the night, wind currents move from the land to the sea.

  1. At night, the situation is reversed.
  2. At night, both land and sea cool down, but water cools slower than land.
  3. The air above the water is warmer than the air above the land surface, and it rises, creating a region of low pressure above the sea.

So, the wind current moves from the land towards the sea during the night.
