Open in App
Solution

Convection:

  • Heat transfer is known to be a process of the exchange of heat from a high-temperature body to a low-temperature body.
  • Convection is defined as the process of movement of fluid molecules from higher temperature regions to lower temperature regions which occurs within fluids such as gases and liquids.
  • In convection, heat is transferred upwards due to the difference in density.
  • Examples of convection are boiling of water, circulation of blood in warm-blooded animals, etc.

Hence, in convection, heat is transferred upwards.
