The relation between divisor, dividend, quotient and remainder is given by,

dividend = divisor $\times$ quotient + remainder

From given, we have

dividend $=b$

divisor $=a$

quotient $=\frac{a}{4}$

remainder $=\frac{a}{2}$

$\therefore$ now we have,

$b=a\times \frac{a}{4}+\frac{a}{2}$

$4b=a^2+2a$

$\frac{a(a+2)}{b}=4$
