Solution

The correct option is B

Vegetative propagation

A lateral branch with short internodes and each node bearing a rosette of leaves and a tuft of roots is found in aquatic plants like Pistia and Eichhornia. Such a stem modification is called an offset. They are like runners except that these are shorter and thicker. An offset is a short thick runner like a branch which produces a new plant at its tip. The offsets grow in all directions from the main stem of the parent plant. If any accidental injury results in the separation of these units, each is capable of leading an independent existence thus acting as units for vegetative propagation.
