A body plan or design is a group of structural and developmental characteristics that can be used to identify a group of animals. A better body design is one that gives the animal a better chance at survival. It is obvious that out of the four (bacteria, spiders, fish, and chimpanzee) chimpanzee has a much more organized and elaborate body design in evolutionary terms. However, since body design is meant for the competitive survival of a particular organism in its particular environment, all the four species given above have a body design that is well suited to their respective environment.
