A- Papilionaceous corolla is characterised by an irregular and butterfly like corolla. The big and single posterio-superior petal is known as vexillum or standard. The semicylindrical base of vexillium embraces and compresses two lateral small wings called as alae. The wings encloses a pair of small keel petals, situated below the wings. The two keel petals are fused together at the base to form a boat like structure known as carina.
