In Fig. 7.143, $\angle A=\angle CED$, prove that $\Delta CAB\sim \Delta CED$. Also, find the value of x.

In $\Delta$ ABC and $\Delta$ EDC
$\angle$CAB = $\angle$CED (Given)

$\angle$ ACB = $\angle$ ECD (common angle)

By AA similarity criteria both triangles are similar.

Hence $\Delta$ABC ~ $\Delta$ EDC
(Corresponding sides of similar triangles)

x = 6 cm
