In figure shown a right circular cone of height 30 cm a small cone is cut of from the top by a plane parallel to the base. If the volume of the small cone is127 of the volume of given cone.
Find at what height above the base is the section made.

Volume of a right circular cone=13πr2h
So, volume of the big cone=13πr2(30)
Volume of the small cone=13πr2h
Given that,
127(13πr2(30))=13πr2h
3027=hcm
The height above the base of the section made is (30h)cm
