In given figure, If ADDC=BEEC and CDE=CED, prove that CAB is isosceles.

In ABC, we have

ADDC=BEEC [Given]

Therefore, by the converse of basic proportionality theorem, we have,

DE||AB

CDE=CABand CED=CBA [Corresponding angles]

But, CDE=CED [Given]

CAB=CBA

A=B

BC=AC [ Sides opposite to equal angles are equal]

CAB is isosceles.
