Question

In given figure PQRS is a parallelogram. PM is the height from P to ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯SR and PN is the height from P to ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯QR. If SR=12 cm and PM=7.6 cm.
(i) Find the area of the parallelogram PQRS
(ii) Find PN, if QR=8cm.

The correct option is D (i) 91.2 cm2 (ii) 11.4 cm.
(i) Given: SR=12 cm,PM=7.6 cm
Area of parallelogram =SR×PM=12×7.6=91.2 cm2

(ii) Given: QR=8 cm , Area of parallelogram =91.2 cm2
We know, Area of parallelogram =QR×PN
91.2=8×PN
PN=91.28
PN=11.4 cm
Hence, A is the correct opton.
