In given figure, two circles with centres A and B touch each other at point C. If AC = 8 cm and AB = 3 cm, find the area of the shaded region.

Given $AC=8cm$, $AB=3cm$

Area of shaded region = Ar. outer circle - Ar. in-circle = $\pi {\left(AC\right)}^2-\pi {\left(BC\right)}^2$

$BC=AC-AB=(8-3)cm=5cm$

$\therefore$ Required area $\pi (8^2-5^2)=\frac{22}{7}\times 39=122.5{cm}^2$
