Solution

Given: l(OD) = 10 cm, l(OL) = 7.5 cm, l(LD) = 5cm, l(GD) = 4 cm and l(GL) = 6 cm
First, we draw a rough sketch of quadrilateral GOLD and indicate the given lengths, as shown below.

Steps of Construction:

(1) Draw DL = 5 cm (the side opposite to the unknown side).

(2) Then, draw an arc taking D as centre and GD (4 cm) as radius.

(3) Then, draw another arc taking L as centre and LG (6 cm) as radius to intersect the previously drawn arc at a point G.

(4) Then, draw an arc taking D as centre and DO (10 cm) as radius on the same side of DL in which the point G lies.

(5) Then, draw another arc taking L as centre and LO (7.5 cm) as radius to intersect the arc drawn in step IV at point O.

(6) Then, join GD, GL, OL, OD, and GO.

Thus, GOLD is the required quadrilateral.
