In hilly areas, erosion is minimised by
Terracing
In the hilly areas, Terrace farming is done. It helps in minimising the soil erosion. A terrace is a piece of sloped plane that is cut into a series of successively receding flat surfaces or platforms, which resemble steps, for the purposes of more efficient farming. This type of landscaping, therefore, is called terracing. Terraced fields decrease both erosion and surface runoff.
