A blastocyst or blastula is a ball of cells with a large, fluid - filled cavity called blastocoel. It has an outer layer of trophoblast cells and a group of cells known as the inner cell mass. The trophoblast cells of blastocyst attach to the uterine wall and get embedded in it.
