In humans, what is the number of chromosomes in germinal cells?
46
Germinal cells have 46 number of chromosomes which undergoes meiotic divisions. These divisions in meiosis are known as meiosis I and meiosis II. After the completion of meiosis I, two daughter cells are formed with half the number of chromosomes (23 chromosomes). Each daughter cell again divides by meiosis II and forms four daughter cells each with 23 chromosomes.
