The nutrient value of jaggery is high. There is a high carbohydrate or sugar content. There are minerals like iron, calcium, sodium and potassium. The jaggery is also a source of vitamin A and C. Due to this reserved nutrition, the jaggery is considered as one of the components in the medicine in India. The consumption of jaggery also helps to enhance the level of haemoglobin due to its iron content.
