In knee jerk reflex, interneurons involved in connecting sensory to motor neuron i.e. connected to motor end plate , then why is knee jerk reflex called monosynaptic?

Dear student,

Synapse is formed between sensory bipolar neuron and motor neuron. Interneurons are not involved in synapses in knee jerk response. Therefore knee jerk response is called monosynaptic reflex arc.
