Solution

The correct option is D Lower than that of the body
In mammals, maturation of sperms take place at a temperature lower than that of body. For that purpose, testes of mammals are extra-abdominal. The testes are situated outside the abdominal cavity within a pouch called scrotum. The temperature in scrotum necessary for sperm formation should be 2oC below body temperature. The slightly cooler temperature of the scrotum is necessary for the development of normal sperm.
Thus, the correct answer is 'Lower than that of the body'.
