Let actual sides of the rectangle be x and y respectively.
Measured sides are x+0.05x=1.05x and y+0.03y=1.03y
Actual area = xy.
Measured area = (1.05)(1.03)xy=1.0815xy

Error percentage = ErrorinareaActualarea×100 =0.0815xyxy×100=8.15%
