In metallurgy, which of the following are popular methods of concentration?
Hand picking
Froth Floatation
Handpicking: This method for ore dressing is used when ore and gangue are easily distinguishable by sight and separable by hand.
Froth Floatation: In general, sulphide ores are concentrated by the froth floatation process. A suspension of finely pulverized ore and water is made. Based on the type of metal ore, other additives like collectors, frothers and stabilizers are added to the suspension. It takes advantage of the fact that ore is wetted by oil while gangue is wetted by water. Froth is produced by an agitating paddle, which draws in air while rotating. The lighter froth carries the ore particles with it to the top of the suspension and can then be skimmed off and dried.
Options c and d do not come under concentration.
