Question

In monohybrid cross, what is the ratio of homozygous dominant and homozygous recessive individuals F2 generation?

Open in App
Solution

Monohybrid cross: A cross between two pure (homozygous) pattern in which the inheritance pattern of only one of the contrasting characters is studied.
With true-breeding parents (one homozygous dominant, one homozygous recessive), all of the F1 progeny will be heterozygous and show the dominant phenotype, and then these will give rise to a 3:1 ratio of phenotypes in the F2 generation.
