Question

In motion class 9, we have learnt about displacement time graphs, velocity time graph etc. Can there be acceleration- displacement graphs or velocity-displacement graphs? If there is, can i get some more info on it?

Solution

No, This is because acceleration is the rate of change of velocity.

a=dvdt
Thus, acceleration do not varies with displacement. Hence, there cannot be acceleration-displacement graph.

Similarly, there cannot be velocity-displacement graph. This is because velocity is the rate of change of displacement.

v=dsdt

Thus, velocity do not varies with displacement. Hence, we cannot plot them on graph.
