in olden days why they use golden thread in jamdani

Open in App
Solution

Hi Ashik,

Jamdani is a fine muslin cloth on which decorative motifs are woven on the loom, typically in grey and white. Often a mixture of cotton and golden thread were used. Because of the intricate designs and the use of golden thread, they were always considered the most expensive productions.
