In one of the following, the seed coat is thick and hard. Which is it?
coconut
Seed coats develop from the covering of the ovules. After fertilization, when the ovules turn into seeds, the outer coverings/coats of the ovule now become the seed coats. During this process, they undergo many changes in the appearance and texture. The seed coat in mature seeds can be a paper-thin layer (groundnut, maize or peas) or it may become thick and hard (coconut, honey locust).
