Effort = 72 N

Let effort arm ( distance of effort from the fulcrum) = y.

Moment due to resistance = Moment due to effort

480 x 0.2 = 72 x y

y = 96 / 72 = 1.33 m

Hence, the distance of effort applied is 1.33 m. .
