In organisms exhibiting internal fertilisation -
Male gametes are either motile or non-motile, but female gametes are always non-motile.
Internal fertilisation is seen in terrestrial animals and plants. In all these organisms, female gamete is non-motile. In animals and plants such as bryophytes and pteridophytes, male gametes are motile whereas in plants such as gymnosperms and angiosperms, they are non-motile. As female gametes are limited less number of offsprings are produced.
