Nephridia are excretory organs in earthworms that collects nitrogenous waste from surrounding tissues and remove them directly or indirectly through alimentary canal to the outside. There are three types nephridia: septal, integumentary and pharyngeal nephridia. Pharyngeal nephridia are paired tufts of nephridia, with each pair lying on either side in 4th, 5th and 6th segments.
Septal nephridia are present on either side of the intestinal septa. They open into the intestine and are present from 15th segment to the last segment.
Integumentary nephridia are attached to the lining of the body wall and opens individually to the outside. They are present in from 3rd to the last segment.
