Dark coloured surfaces absorb more heat than light coloured surfaces. (2 Marks)

Since white colour reflects most of the heat falling on it, it absorbs less amount of heat. Hence, in hot regions, the outer walls of the house are painted white to keep them cool.​ (1 Mark)
