Solution

The correct option is A ADP is converted to ATP
Respiration involves the chemical breakdown of substances (carbohydrates, proteins, fats) to produce ATP and CO2. The type of respiration which occurs in the presence of oxygen is called aerobic respiration and takes place in the mitochondria of eukaryotes and cytosol of prokaryotes. Thus oxygen is consumed and not released during aerobic respiration.

In plants, photosynthesis is the process by which carbohydrates are synthesized in the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll. Aerobic respiration does not involve the formation of carbohydrates.

During aerobic respiration ADP (adenosine diphosphate) is converted to ATP (adinosine triphosphate) by the addition of high energy phosphate group.
