On pressing a rubber ball placed on a table, the ball get compressed and hence, the shape of the ball changes.

The state of motion of the ball doesn't change. It is because when we press the ball, the ball presses the table surface. The table surface applies an equal and opposite force on the ball. Therefore, the net force on the ball is zero so it doesn't change its state of motion.

The mass remains unchanged because we are not removing any portion of the ball. We are not changing the amount of matter contained by the ball. The force applied only brings the particles of the ball closer to compress it.
